Our Abby Sunshine has become a spokesdog for experiencing fulfillment in caring for a family dog. Not only is dog ownership a great responsibility, but there is also great reward in the process.

We speak in classrooms and at special events. We read A Day With Abby Sunshine and conduct a group discussion with questions and answers. In the grand finale, Abby dazzles the group with a few tricks!

I took my dogs, Muggs and Zoner (Allison) to Barton Open school when our son was teaching there. They were both Border Collies. They are in dog heaven now, both died at about age 16.

They ran into the school and I went to the classroom and they wound up there after herding a few kids. The kids sprawled on the floor and the dogs flopped, reveling in the touching and petting. A girl had prepared a report on Border Collies and they were the living examples of the breed.
Animals are great teaching aids and there is no better combination than kids and dogs. In America I think we keep animals and people apart too much. In France dogs come right into the restaurants with their people.

Abby Sunshine has been really fun on the school visits. Having Abby along on these book readings brings out a side of the children that is very thoughtful and connected. It sounds like your visit to Barton Open was a fun adventure!

I am a student at an elementary school and Lisa and Abby visited our school today. I enjoyed her stay very much, she read her book (even though it has not been published) and showed us some tricks that abby can do, and let us fill out two different papers with drawings and text. She handed out stickers with Abby and her website on it. Her book is cute, and is from Abbys point of view, so take advantage of the situation by teaching your kids or students about
Personification. Your kids/students and you will enjoy this book very much.
